“Six minutes, dear. I am six minutes late”, Clara said.  Melvin watched as she plopped
the grocery bag down. What she didn’t tell him was that she had to stop by a friend’s
house to lend a helping hand. Melvin was peculiar about stuff like that. He believed
that Clara helped people too much. The irony was he wondered where his friend’s 
were when he had a need. Clara thought in her head, “Well maybe if you helped others
like I do then they would help you too.” She knew that comversation would not go
well. She cleared her mind, pulled out the TV dinner from the bag, and set the oven
on preheat. Clara got to work on the supper meal while distracting herself in the
novel she was currently reading.
