“Wake up with determination; go to bed with satisfaction.” – George Lorimer

What are you curious about right now?
It appears that Tux is sniffing the air. I know he wants to go outside, but he will be a terror to Smokey. Still, I wonder what Tux is thinking. Maybe he is inhaling all the good and exhaling all the bad stuff.

Today’s gratitude:

Cameron sat near a window that overlooked the land. The time of the day was close to darkness. The night sky was beginning to prepare for its display of stars. Being smart would mean he could expect a beautiful sight. That is, if he looked towards the mountains where no houses or businesses use lights. He wouldn't regret it. As he gazed out of the window, he saw a crow take flight from a nearby tree. Cameron noticed a piece of paper dangling from its beak. He wondered, was the crow a messenger of good news or bad? In my opinion, Camern said, "I think the letter is an outline. Maybe it's an oath of love and commitment". As the night grew darker, right before complete darkness, he noticed that the silly bird dropped the note on the ground by the window. Cameron reached his hand, stretching his arm, out of the window to grab the note. He unfolded the worn paper and found this as its contents:
There once was a dog named Jelly
Who had white fur on his belly
till one day he's muddy
from playing with his buddy
So now he's all dirty and smelly
(Turns out he lived close to the famous Limerick writer, DeAngelo (I made that name up), this must have been one of his practice notes he threw in the waste bin ...that the crow picked up.
Cameron smiled, laughed, actually, at the puerile thoughts that came to his mind. What was DeAngelo thinking up there in his loft? "It's dark", Cameron said. "What if I go to his loft to spy on him-see what the writer is up to"? Cameron crawled out of his window only to scratch his ankle on a rusty nail. "Gosh", he said, "I don't know when I had my last Tetanus shot". Then he remembered his shots were updated at his last doctor's visit. Luckily, he had a tissue in his pocket to use as a compress. He hoped to slow the blood flow from the wound that wasn't intense but needed his attention. After a few minutes of taking care of his wound, Cameron rose from his perch on the stump around the front of his house. He noticed the air was crisp, the kind of weather you would expect in the early Fall. While covering his neck more with his wool sweater, he continued his walk to DeAngelo's loft. Once he rounded the corner, in the town square, he noticed a light in the loft. DeAngelo must still be awake. When Cameron got closer, he noticed the person who appeared through the window wasn't DeAngelo, but the town crook. Luckily, Cameron brought his gun, not to use it, of course, but for protection mainly. He quietly entered DeAngelo's loft to scare away the crook, when he saw what the crook was after-a prized manuscript of DeAngelo's. Immediately, he desires to call the cops. Camerom stopped before hitting send on his cell phone. "He wasn’t supposed to be there—but then again, neither was I", Cameron thought to himself. The time to walk out of the loft was now, quietly. Once outside, he called the cops, then started running back home. In the background, he heard the cop had arrived at DeAngelo's. Cameron soon arrived at his bedroom window, with enough time to catch his breath, only to hear the police car drive past his lane. The next night, DeAngelo rang Cameron's phone to tell him about last night's incident. Little did he know that Cameron already knew. Did he tell the writer? No! Some things are better kept to yourself. Cameron smirked to himself with a huge Cheshire grin.
