FOWC With Fandango — Thrill

Welcome to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (U.S.). Today’s word is “thrill.” Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No […]

FOWC With Fandango — Thrill

The first thing that came to mind was the phrase, “the thrill of it all.”

I saw a forest that I had never been to today. Or at least since I was too young to remember. My mom, son, and husband go on trips together. So today we went to her sister’s gravesite. This grave site is well taken care of. It’s a family site. Meaning, my grandparent’s childhood family. I find it hard to imagine that one day my grandparents were mournfully there at the very place I was standing. It’s tragic that at a young age, they were there to bury their first baby. A nine-month-old baby girl. We did other things also. We went to stores to shop, ate out at a BBQ joint, and ended our day with a strawberry milkshake. Mainly our trips are to get us out of the house which is something other than a doctor’s appointment.

So, this forest has been recently cleared of its trees. What used to be a deeper forest is now an open field. Somehow, I dream about this place. I wonder why? They say a woman is born with all of the eggs she will have in a lifetime. If that’s so, then I was there even before I was born. My grandmother carried me ( so to speak)because she carried the egg that would eventually be my mom. This is what “they” say I find this interesting Do you think that is the reason I dream of this place? Life is full of heartaches indeed. But life is also full of many miracles when we look for them.

P.s. I hope I dream about my forest tonight.

Until Next Time,

Heidi💜
