One-Liner Wednesday & #JusJoJan26 the 7th – I hate when that happens |
-January 7
It’s a good thing that I was off today. My nerves are shot. Spending time with my cat, and a long walk outside this beautiful day are my plans. At least I thought those were my plans. My supervisor called to tell me of an urgent meeting I was required to attend. Don’t you hate it when you have your mind set on one thing and something unexpected happens?

It is amazing how my stress seems to go away as soon as I rub my cat’s soft fur. A long walk on my day off soothes my senses as well. Both were cut short by my phone call from the supervisor. Our meeting was about safety in the lab. I mean like I would do something unsafe willfully. Geez, at least they had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit for each employee waiting for us. Oh, and a fresh cup of coffee as well. The meeting didn’t last long. I should be grateful that they care about the employees by providing us with safety meetings. When I was packing up to leave the lab, I noticed some left-over tubing from the previous night. I didn’t want anyone to trip or stumble so I quickly picked it up and threw it in the trash. As for now, I went to the bathroom to change into my workout gear. When I closed my car door I smiled. Now I was finally headed to the park for my walk.

My alarm blared in my ear.
Telling me it was 5 in the evening. My birthday is today. I haven’t told anyone so maybe I wouldn’t get any surprises. Like parties or gifts. I didn’t want to celebrate my birthday.
Getting back to my alarm. Why was it so loud?
Maybe because I had it set on high and maybe because the sound was for a storm warning. Anyway, I hopped in the shower, got dressed, and quickly ate some left-over mashed potatoes and peas from a couple days ago. Was it more than three days ago? I was told not to trust food that was left over for more than three days. It was mashed potatoes though, so I shrugged my shoulders and decided to eat them anyway.
When I arrived at work I saw three firetrucks. That couldn’t be good. I also saw an ambulance. Um? what was going on? Then, I saw them wheel out the worker from that shift on a stretcher. Hence, the reason for our safety meetings. I was met by my supervisor at the door asking me to follow the ambulance to the hospital until her husband could make it there. Beth was her name, I think. She, my coworker was new. So, she wasn’t aware of the safety measures. The lab was shut down for the night, hoping to open in the morning. For now, the safety of Beth was more important.
Until Next Time,
Heidi💜

Happy birthday Heidi. I hope your co- worker wasn’t harmed seriously.
Speaking from my made-up story character, thank you.
You’re welcome. ☺️
I am glad you had a nice walk, a nice bit of yummy food, and a good meeting! 😍😍💐💐
I need to give my character a name. Hum?
