Heidi’s Word Press Prompt- 4-15-2025

My mom started my love for bird watching by helping me set up what I call, my bird sanctuary.

One year, when I babysat my niece, Riley and my son would see 20+ golden finches. I found that sunflower kernels were their favorite type of bird food. So I would fill the feeders quite much during a week to see those beauties. That was a great time I our lives

Last year, we had a blue 🐦 bird that would tap on my husband’s window. He would tell me when I was taking a nap in our room. I questioned myself if he was actually seeing a bird in the living room window. For sure, a most beautiful male blue bird was indeed tapping the window when he saw his reflection. We did see a female blue bird with him but never saw any babies.We did notice them making a nest in our bird house.

This year, we are overrun with black birds/cow birds. Cow birds make that sound of dripping water. That sound is cute, but those black birds run away the purple headed finches and other song birds. After some research, I found that black birds don’t like safflower seeds. I filled my feeders with them. However, I still see tons of black birds for now.

We now have blue bird eggs in the nest of the bird house. I am excited to see new life in a bit. The cutest thing today was seeing my bluebird sticking it’s butt out of the bird house. (The green one )

Never would I have imagined years ago that I would be a bird watcher. Here I am, though. A bird watcher and loving it.

Also I am loving the new growth of my plants. I want to include a few pictures of them. I hope you have a great night!
