Short Story time;

My grandfather wanted to take me fishing on my day off from work. Of course, I excitedly obliged to his request. I was concerned about the wild animals I would encounter on our walk to the water. Luckily, I only saw a lizard with a locust on its head, and it was occupied-it seemed. On our way, we encountered a group of friends who had gathered together to cook out for their day off from work. The music was blasting from the radio on the picnic table.

Laughing Along With A Limerick – Esther Chilton

After a relaxing time, she and her grandad parted ways with a hug and agreed to see each other soon. Next, she decided to go to the store to get supper for her and her daughter.

She woke up knowing today would rewrite everything she believed about herself. Someday, her life would turn around financially. She bought a lottery ticket at the store. Lo and behold, that “someday” was today. She had won the lottery. Well, she doesn’t normally buy a ticket, but today she did, and she won! #missysmadchallenge Missy’s MAD Challenge # 094 – M.A.D. “Was this a dream?” she asked herself. Her hand grabbed the door handle, which was hot to the touch. The kind lady who had parked beside her at the store said in a calm voice, “Honey, is there anything I can do for you?” She could feel her cheeks and forehead blush beet red. The lady placed her cool hand on her cheek. The lottery winner wanted to rush home before the lady parked next to her shared a picture of her daughter, who was the cheer captain at the local high school. It turns out their daughters were best friends on the cheer squad. The school is a catchment for all the girls who live in the surrounding neighborhoods. Amazing how the rhythm of an ordinary day can bring not only one but two things. Such joyful things! They soon finished their conversation and agreed to meet up for lunch one day. As a lottery ticket winner of a million dollars, she opened her car door, which had cooled off, and listened to the distant sound of the girls at cheer practice. It’s a Bank Holiday here in the UK, so a lot of us don’t have to go to work. Are you working today? I work from home as my husband’s caregiver, which most of you already know. I was, and still am, a Scentsy Consultant-wax boss!
2.  What do you like to do on your days off (not holiday/vacation)? I like to sleep, read, blog, watch TV, and spend time with family and friends.
