This Week’s Writer’s Workshop Prompts – February 6, 2025

Tell us about a time you had to go to court.
SO, THE DAY FINALLY ARRIVED. I WAS CALLED /SERVED (WHATEVER) MY JURY DUTY PAPERS.

Do you know what the ironic thing is? I received my jury duty papers. The judge of the court denied any excuses that I could not serve. Even before I was given a chance to plea my case. The judge called my name as the last juror. That didn’t matter though. I thought I was the coolest person on God’s green Earth. At the time I was deep into the show Criminal Minds. I was all in the crime, law scene. To sum it all up I was required (on call) for a whole year, once o month. This time allowed me to get to know several people. I actually wish something like this could be a job for disabled people to serve on the jury. Honestly, I feel like for someone to take off of work is a lot in pay cut. But for someone is on a fixed income the extra cash would be appreciated. Jury Duty was a great experience for me.
