The light she saw when she looked out of her bedroom window was as bright as ever. Yes, high in the sky was the full moon. She sat atop her bed covers, thinking how she loved her occupation. A lighthouse keeper. She enjoyed the peace. The only sound was the waves crashing on the rocks below. Earlier that day, she checked all the mechanisms of the lighthouse. She made sure they worked properly. The light was ready to guide ships on their voyage. She slipped on a nightshirt. Then she felt the softness of the blankets on her bed. She inhaled the smell of the sun-dried sheets that were freshly washed and dried earlier that day. Her body grew tired, and her eyes grew heavy.
She found herself in the early morning. She sat at the table with a freshly cut melon. There was some yogurt and orange juice there, too. Her true love was on the beach, walking towards her. They glanced at each other with a smile on their faces. Her Kindle, on the table across from her, with the screen lit up. She was waiting for the inspiration to write. For a second, she pondered. In hopes that she would never wake up. If this were a dream…
