Denise at GirlieOnTheEdge’s Blog adds a quote that always inspires me:
“Writing is a form of personal freedom. It frees us from the mass identity we see in the making all around us. In the end, writers will write not to be outlaw heroes of some underculture but mainly to save themselves, to survive as individuals.” – Don DeLi
*Here is my contribution to this Sunday’s word prompt-charge
No charge…Wait… what?
I was completely surprised, pleasantly satisfied with how my life was turning out these days, Alissa said, as she grasped the keys to the cabin owned by a dear friend.
Here, she was here, on the day she most needed it, a change of scenery, a second chance, and a new start.
Today was the first anniversary of her novel’s release, and what a joy it was to finally have income from its sales to support herself now.
So, when she heard “no charge”, she was surprised…gratefully.
Her agent, the owner of the cabin, wanted her to release another book, which was going to happen at the most perfect resort, because why not; being pampered offered the relaxation and attention she wanted right now.
