SHARE YOUR WORLD MARCH 16 2026– Di, at pensitivity101, asks in her Share Your World Prompt,

1. Do you wear glasses, and if so, can you remember your first pair?

My first pair of glasses? Let me think…was probably somtime after my tbi (traumatic brain injury). Maybe discoverd during an eye exam. I had several eye exams because my brain injury affected my eyes and their muscle ability. I probably needed glasses anyway, but I was dealing with objects being blurry off a distance plus the effects of my brain injury. To explain how objects appeared for me at that time, I will use the moon. Normally, we see the moon as a steady ball that is placed in the pitch dark night sky that illuminates the sky. It does not move. For me though, the moon would not stay still. I would see the moon kind of like a scale that is moving back and forth.

2. If you were a precious stone, what would best describe you?

Pearl. Not that I feel like I am “all that”, or any more special than any other person. A pearl reminds me how it is created. By irritation of  anything that gets in its shell, the oyster creates a pearl. Something beautiful comes from all that friction/struggles. I have to believe, out of my struggles, something beautiful is created.

3. At home, do you wear slippers, slipper socks or walk around in bare feet?

I prefer to be barefoot and sock less when I crawl in the bed at night. No socks, unless my feet are cold or don’t eventually get warm by a blanket. During the day, I love to wear slippers with fuzzy socks. I have slippers that can be worn inside or outside. I wear shoes around the house if I am going in or outside (sneakers/tennis shoes). I have a tendency to stump my toe so wearing shoes prevents me from hurting my toes. Some shoes are better than others since wearing shoes helps my balance while walking. Another effect from my brain injury, terrible gait/ trouble with balance. I feel as if I am walking on a tight rope, and tend to fall, at times.

4. How many pillows do you sleep with at night?

Normally, I sleep with one pillow. The past two nights, I haven’t used a pillow. My neck feels cramped. No pillow seems to be more comfortable at the moment.

Gratitude:

Pinterest is where I go for quotes, memes, or anything that helps me focus on gratitude in life. Also being medicated helps me deal with difficult people who I let interrupt my gratitude attitude. Pinterest is down right now. I guess due to the expected bad weather with thunder storms. Maybe down internet lines or the amount of people on the internet with the local kids being out of school. Yes, that seems to affect the internet speed. My internet is so slow…ugh!

  1. Great answers! I cried the day a podiatrist told me I really needed to stop walking barefoot around the house. I’ve been a barefoot girlie all my life, it felt impossible to get used to shoes on my feet all the time. I’ve learned, but it was a tough learning curve and sometimes I still cheat.

      • It just felt so rude! 🤣 Honestly I was even more mad that they were right, my feet and back feel better when I keep supportive shoes on my feet.

  2. no pillows, I need pillows, I cant lay flat, I feel as though I’m suffocating if I do lie flat!

  3. No more glasses after my cataract surgery! Arch support is essential, I even get sandals with good arch support.

I like what you said about pearls. You are precious.

What do you think? 🤔
