She felt tired. Often, the noise of obligation was so loud that she had to get away to a quiet place. Emily knew he was very demanding. She also realized he was emotionally abusive. That was why she was overwhelmed. Her loyalty as a daughter plus his sole caregiver made her ignorance to his manipulation seem necessary. Her father was well known throughout the community as a respectable man. But his behavior towards her was awful. It fell below the standards he had among the neighborhood.
